Executive assistant

The current Executive Board of Loyens & Loeff is looking for an executive assistant responsible for the execution of a wide range of duties to enable them to maximize their capacity as key leaders within the firm.

Location: Amsterdam/Rotterdam
32-40 hours/week

The Executive Board (EB) of Loyens & Loeff is responsible for the day-to-day management of the law firm and its offices spread across the world. The board is charged with the determination of the firm wide policy and strategy on both the short- and long-term. The current EB is looking for an executive assistant responsible for the execution of a wide range of duties to enable them to maximize their capacity as key leaders within Loyens & Loeff.


As executive assistant you will drive and evolve Loyens & Loeff as a whole by assisting the EB on a substantive level. In your daily activities you will use your expertise to advise the EB on issues relating to corporate governance and ensuring effective leadership of the EB which is in line with the strategy. You will contribute to the formulation of strategy, policy and the delivery of corporate and statutory objectives by writing preliminary drafts on these subjects. These documents are submitted to the EB for further review and elaboration.

As an executive assistant, you are able to build on the relationship with internal stakeholders, including practice groups, financial planning and accounting teams, managers and leadership, to ensure the success of not only the Executive Board but also the firm. This requires liaising with stakeholders and third parties ensuring that everyone is and remains aligned. You will brief the EB on discussions with stakeholders and include the necessary follow-up. This entails providing an adequate administrative system to facilitate the effective management which is also future-proof.

Finally you will prepare and check all firm wide communications (which is done in English) of the Board in collaboration with the Communications & Marketing Department.


We are looking for an enthusiastic collaborator and influencer, to partner with leadership across our regions to achieve results together. It is imperative that you have strong drafting skills, organized, proactive and good at multitasking. You are persuasive and determined and have the ability to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment with demanding stakeholders.

You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the legal or professional services industry, you hold at least a LL.M. degree and speak native English (preferably also one or two other languages such as Dutch or French). You have an eye for detail, value integrity and feel responsible. Last but not least you are a team player with cultural sensitivity and a sense of humor.
